Similarities between us

4 comments:

  1. What do we have in common? I'll tell you!
We both love what we do! And, we both studied for quite some time before we made our careers successful. We have both had our work critiqued but people moslty love our work.
    Keep loving what you do!

  2. Bonjour, Mr.Roy! I found myself very captivated in your interview. One thing, I admired about you and something we shared is when we both entered our career fields, we faced challenges. Your career field, like mine, had a "set" style that had dominated for quite some time. And like I, you had a fire inside of you, this strife, to change that. Another way we are similar is that we both feel that is our duty to speak through our art. We have this divine goal to send messages without just using our voices. And finally, i found us to be similar because we both had to be self-depenedent. After the tragic death of my child and two divorces, I, like you, realized that in order to be successful in life I had to be on my own and act for myself. And to /not/ be dependent on others. Thank you for sharing your life Mr.Roy and I hope we can get together sometime!

  3. Hello Mr. Roy. While reading your interview I found we have many similarities. We were both exposed to the arts starting at a young age. I also went to school and had a similar experience to what you described about needing to express yourself and be true to your own style. Your art is very similar to the art that inspired me to begin painting. The brightly colored folk style. I enjoyed learning about you and your paintings.

  4. Hmm...similarities we have? I would have to say me and you both really didnt have any body to look up. I was more independent like you. We also faced rejection. When i first started dancing i was rejected by the white audience because i am African American. THe main thing we have in common is that we both created our own style in what we do.
